Digital Cameras and Camcorders has changed the way of Photography and Video work in recent time. You no longer have to be a pro to shoot extraordinary photographs or videos. Check out the article about why we prefer Camcorders over Digital Cameras.
Almost all digital cameras offer 720p video recording. There are some which offer higher quality like 1080p. For even sharper images, digital camera will fail. Here is when you need to have dedicated camcorder that can help you with a good job. Your camcorder should have qualities that surpass a normal digital camera else you can go ahead with your digital camera. Even the best of digital camera, no matter what it boasts, can in no way offer more than 1200p. At least, there is no such digital camera that I know about.
Coming to video recording, while digital cameras cannot give you more than 15 fps, camcorders with standard definition can help to capture video at higher frame rates. The bit rate is also higher, which means Hi-Definition videos that cannot be obtained through the use of even the best digital camera.
Camcorders have a robust zoom. They have higher magnification. The best of long zoom digital cameras cannot match the camcorders. The best camcorders are 30x x 60x camcorders.
The next advantage with a camcorder is that the lenses can operate very silently while filming. While in a digital camera, the lenses pick up the noises while filing easily. A camcorder is very silent in its operation.
The other advantage of a camcorder is that they have internal hard drives. The digital cameras on the other hand have flash memory cards. These memory cards cannot record the same capacity as the camcorders hard drives. There is also an option to record video directly into a DVD for easy playback.
The microphones inside the camcorders are more sophisticated than the digital cameras. There is audio recording option and the ability to zoom into the sound source automatically in the camcorders. Other camcorders have the option to capture multi channel audio, which is also called surround sound audio.
The design of camcorders is such that it can be used for holding steady for long period of time during recording. Still cameras and cell phones with cameras are not designed for such usage. The displays in a camcorder can be rotated to display a number of angles. The displays in cameras are fixed and cannot be moved.
Advanced camcorders have the option to adjust the shutter speed, field view, and even to tweak the image. These facilities are not available on a digital still camera.
Digital cameras are a long stride from the cameras seen in the video arena. But camcorders are way ahead of them. You can also go ahead and shoot a full length movie using the camcorders.
